Description

A really unusual art deco period brooch. Modeled in 15 k gold to depict an octopus with demantoid garnet eyes.

Most likely a commission as I have never seen such a piece.

The reverse is inscribed “Dear octopus, Queens theater, Jean Ormonde, 14th  Sept 1938”.

This was a play by Dodi Smith the writer of 101 Dalmatians. The inscription corresponds to a member of the cast and the opening night of the play.
